I have used Kodi on a Raspberry Pi 3 and an Android tablet to watch TV using the NextPVR addon and have not had any of the issues that I've experienced with the Fire stick.

So my question is, is the Fire Stick 4K just not powerful enough to run Kodi with the NextPVR addon? Or is there some setting that I haven't configured for it to work properly. I wound up going down this road in a rather circuitous way. It can even download guide data, which is apparently something WMC no longer feels like doing. So it doesn't appear that wifi connection is an issue. NextPVR is an awesome free (as in beer, not as in freedom unfortunately ) PVR application for Windows that with a little bit of tweaking handily replaced Windows Media Center. The only way I can get video to stream from NextPVR on the Fire stick is if I enter the stream URL into VLC.

But after I installed Kodi on the Fire stick, when I tried to select a channel, I could hear the audio of the TV channel, the video of the channel would appear after a few seconds, and then the video would freeze followed by the audio freezing. I was hoping to run Kodi with the NextPVR addon so I could watch my PVR channels. So I bought a Fire TV 4K stick recently when it went on sale to use it to replace my Raspberry Pi running Libreelec.
